138 Underprivileged Families Receive Eid Essentials in Shibpur
As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, the Dorgarbond Probashi Volunteer Foundation has distributed Eid essentials and cash assistance to 138 underprivileged families in Shibpur, Narsingdi, for the seventh consecutive year.
The distribution took place on Thursday (March 27) in Dorgarbond village, Dulalpur Union, Shibpur Upazila, Narsingdi. Each family received a package containing:
Sugar: 1 kg
Soybean oil: 1 liter
Laccha semai: 200 grams
Powdered milk: 25 grams
Masoor dal: 1 kg
Polao rice: 1 kg
Cash assistance: Tk 500
Founded by expatriates, the Dorgarbond Probashi Volunteer Foundation has been actively working to support the less fortunate since its inception. Over the years, it has conducted free medical camps, blood donation drives, free blood group testing, mosquito eradication programs to prevent dengue, free Quran education, scholarships and educational material distribution for underprivileged students, marriage assistance for destitute women, medical aid, and employment initiatives under its self-reliance project. The foundation also conducts public awareness campaigns featuring Quranic and Hadith-based messages across the village.
During the distribution event, key attendees included Treasurer Robiul Bhuiyan, Relief and Medical Affairs Secretary Bashar Khan, and Advisor Farid Shikder. General members present were Ohid, Masud Khan, and Azizul.
Volunteers involved in the initiative included Masuk Bhuiyan, Sajid Khan, Lijon Khan, Sourav, Sahed, Tamim, Shakil, Nijamuddin, Mihir, Asif, Badon, Mojammel, Shohid, and Ferdous.
Speaking at the event, foundation leaders reiterated their commitment to continuing such welfare initiatives in the future, ensuring that no one in their community is left behind during times of need.
