কেন International অনেক ফ্রিল্যান্সার এখন PayPal বাদ দিচ্ছে?

এক সময় PayPal ছিল ফ্রিল্যান্সারদের go-to পেমেন্ট গেটওয়ে। কিন্তু এখন? এখন পরিস্থিতি একেবারে উল্টা। অনেকেই এখন PayPal বাদ দিয়ে অন্য অপশন খুঁজতেছে। কারণ?

▶ Paypal হুট করে account limit বা freeze করে দেয়

কোন নোটিশ ছাড়াই account ফ্রিজ করে দিবে। এর পর শুরু হয় হাজার রকম ভেরিফিকেশন, ডকুমেন্ট, আর লম্বা প্রসেস। ওইদিকে আপনার payment দরকার, but PayPal বলবে “wait and suffer"

▶ Customer support = pure disappointment

ধরেন আপনার account এ সমস্যা হইছে। কল দেন, hold এ রাখে, তারপর কেটে দেয়। Mail দেন, reply নাই। Live chat? Joke. মানে, এত বড় একটা কোম্পানির এত বাজে support system যেটা অবশ্যই unacceptable।

▶ ক্লায়েন্ট scam করলেও PayPal তাদের পক্ষ নেয়

ফ্রিল্যান্সার হিসেবে সবচেয়ে painful experience হল আপনি কাজ করলেন, ক্লায়েন্ট পেমেন্ট দিল, তারপর সে refund চাইলো কোনো কারণ ছাড়াই … PayPal তার টাকা ফেরত দিয়ে দিবে! কোনো প্রমাণ লাগে না, just ক্লায়েন্ট বললেই হয়। ফ্রিল্যান্সার কষ্ট করুক, সেটা ওদের problem না।

▶ অতিরিক্ত ফি + বাজে exchange rate

PayPal একবার টাকা কাটে receive করার সময়, আবার কাটে টাকা তুলতে গেলে। উপরে উপরে ফি কম মনে হলেও, exchange rate এমন দেয় যে বেশ বড় একটা amount হারিয়ে যায়। শেষমেশ দেখা যায় আপনি যে payment পাওয়ার কথা ছিল, তার অনেকটাই PayPal খাচ্ছে

▶ Security নিয়েও সমস্যা

কখনো দেখা যায় account হ্যাক হইছে, কখনো অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত ট্রান্সাকশন। কিন্তু তখনও PayPal এর response ultra slow। অথচ sensitive financial data নিয়ে কাজ করছে তাও proper security দিতে পারে না!

➲ তাহলে ইউনূস সরকারের কাছে আমাদের কোনটা চাওয়া উচিত?
আমার মতে Wise Personal Account.
Wise নিয়ে ইউজারদের আমি এখন পর্যন্ত অমন কমপ্লেন দেখিনি

PayPal এক সময়ে king ছিল, কিন্তু এখন? এখন ওদের সার্ভিস দেখে মনে হয় যেনো “take it or leave it” attitude।
