BRAC University Film Club "Learning, serving and achieving 360 degrees!" In order to become something more, we must “live” the medium. Change all around us and within ourselves.

Vision: To enrich people’s lives and enable cultural exchange by depicting life itself, through films, and to become the club most recognized for innovations. Mission: BUFC was born out of a vision to make better the lives of all its stakeholders by not just screening films but by living them. It is to be done by the following factors:
• People: BUFC’s strongest driving force is its people who a

re known as BUFCians and who are passionate about meeting and achieving new feats regarding films. They are given total freedom to imagine and implement the craziest ideas as long as they are relevant.
• Films: We believe that showing movies is not enough. We are focused to make the students interested towards film making.
• Society: BRAC University Film Club recognizes the need of contributing to society and strives to make a difference in people’s lives wherever applicable by utilizing the power of the film-medium and its active members.
• Change: Everything we do, we do to bring about change. What we believe we need is a change of perspective and understanding towards other peoples, cultures, beliefs and overall ways of life. Change can be achieved by the power of films.
• Leadership: We have a proud history of creating leaders and improve ability of students through activity all around. As our motto is “Learn, serve and achieve 360 Degrees” we always try to enhance leading and organizing ability.

This is Muhammed Ashfaque Ahammed Tanim, our dear friend and a student here at Brac University.
He's just 24. And right now, he’s fighting for his life.
Tanim has been diagnosed with Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukaemia (MPAL) — a rare and super aggressive form of blood cancer that affects both B and T cells. It’s one of those conditions that hits fast and hits hard.

Just three years ago, Tanim lost his dad. His mom, a breast cancer survivor, already went through her own fight — using up everything the family had: their savings, time, and strength. Now, this family is fighting another battle, and this time it’s Tanim’s.
He’s currently admitted at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram (Delhi, India). He’s already started intensive chemotherapy, but the doctors have said he’ll need a bone marrow transplant — his only shot at surviving this.
The cost? Around 1 to 1.5 crore BDT.
It’s huge. And for a family that’s already been through so much, it’s impossible to do alone.
This is where we come in.

Because to Tanim, that could literally mean another day to fight, another chance at living.

The panel members of BRAC University Film Club had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Leadership Bootcamp 2025, organized by the Office of Co-curricular Activities (OCA), Student Life, BRAC University, at BRAC CDM, Savar.

The day was filled with inspiring sessions, interactive activities, and meaningful reflections that helped us strengthen our sense of leadership, teamwork, and collaboration.

We were deeply honored by the presence of our Honourable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, and Registrar, Dr. David Dowland, whose insightful words and encouragement truly elevated the experience.

A heartfelt thank you to OCA, Student Life for curating such an impactful and empowering initiative that continues to guide and inspire student leaders across BRAC University.
