After its digital release in 2022, Nebula, the latest album by visual artist and composer Pierre Clemens, is now available on vinyl !

Nebula (from the Latin for "Nebula") is a set of six pieces in the tonal universe dear to Pierre Clemens. A self-taught composer with a background in the visual arts, this creative jack-of-all-trades creative jack-of-all-trades, delivers an opus composed of previously unpublished sound scores. Playing on an agglomeration of repetitive textures, he entangles ethereal harmonies, typical of his musical construction as we know it.

Pierre Clemens is a UFO in contemporary musical creation. So much so, in fact, that no label would be adequate for cataloguing his work over the last twenty years. For him, Nebula is an opportunity to reconnect with this pictorial tonality, which he seeks to bring to light. It's a theater of clues, allowing the listener to create a world of sound images, memories and, at times, nostalgia.

Pierre Clemens is a Belgian visual artist and composer
born in Brussels in 1970.

Pareidolia is the human ability to create meaning where none exists at first glance. It is most often associated with visual phenomena, such as the recognition of shapes (faces and others) in clouds, or of a particular form in any available object. This particular faculty is one of Pierre Clemens' main interests, whether in the visual arts (he is a painter at heart) or in sound and musical research.
From the outset, it has been at the very heart of his artistic project: the human ability to project meaning into everything, and thus to create, in fine, his own world, and by the same token, his own existential solitude. Despite our search for a social consensus, we create our own world through our need to understand an external environment that is sometimes, but not exclusively, disturbing and dangerous.
For Pierre Clemens, sound pareidolia is a field of research that makes sense because it echoes his parallel visual work. PAREIDOLIA is a noisy, musical sound performance in which he invites diverse, heterogeneous sounds to mingle for an instant, or even longer, to give the listener an illusion of meaning created by this ephemeral meeting. As in its visual counterpart, listeners are invited to create their own universes of meaning.
This performance, lasting around 30 minutes, is first and foremost an improvisation in which the "composer of the ephemeral" elaborates, in successive layers, through intuitive and constantly renewed choices, a sound universe that makes sense individually. Pareidolia will do its work.
