Hon Queenstar Sawyer to empower 500 women and 200 PWDS with business support loan today

Today, Thursday, 3rd September 2026, Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr continues her commitment to empowering the people of Agona East.

As part of the Women Development Bank Programme, 500 women in the constituency will receive loans to support and grow their businesses. In addition, 200 persons with disabilities will also benefit from this important initiative.

This is yet another demonstration of Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr’s dedication to improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for women and vulnerable groups in the constituency.

Later Yesterday SWESCO one of the four senior high schools in Agona East Constituency received the 1,000 Tables and Chairs from the Hon. Member of Parliament Hon. Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr.

it's expected that additional 2000+ furniture would be distributed appropriately to other institutions. This will bring the sum of complete furniture distributed from the beginning of the year 2026 to about 10,000 across all schools in Agona East Constituency.

This is a demonstration of her commitment to serving the good people of Agona East.

GP DECORATES POLICE OFFICER PROMOTED FOR SAVING LIVES AT ABOSO

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, today, 31st August 2026, invited Inspector Hance Atubra of the Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters to the National Police Headquarters in Accra, where he decorated him with his new rank of Chief Inspector.

Inspector Atubra was promoted in recognition of his bravery and exceptional efforts in saving lives and protecting property during a fire outbreak at Aboso in the Western Region on 26th August 2026.
The IGP commended him for his courage, quick response and dedication to duty, noting that his actions exemplify the values of professionalism and service expected of Police officers.
