Dear friends and followers,
I'm afraid i have some bad news...
Recently Mixcloud have decided to start charging for their free version. This would mean that i either only could have 10 episodes uploaded at any given time, or pay for the Pro version.
It's not that i can't afford it, but the past few years have been a constant test on my resolve to keep the show going.
First Covid came and locked us out of the studio.
Then Ronny quit, leaving me as the sole driving force.
Then we relocated to studio in Hal 5 which was not soundproof, where we sometimes had unwelcome guests ( the drunk guy that just walked in, started calling us all as****es and then requested a song particularly stands out).
They also sometimes had loud concerts 30m from our non-soundproof studio.
Scorpio also raised it's contrubution for the show.
Meanwhile, constantly having to come up with 25 songs each week started taking it's toll on my motivation, and it proved difficult to find people who had time, motivation and the very specific knowledge of the niche genres we were trying to highlight.
So, rather than watch the show dwindle away slowly, i've decided to call it quits right away.
"Better to burn out than to fade away", as i'm sure someone more famous than me has said.
We kept it going for over 12 years, made something like 450 shows, interviewed a lot of bands and most importantly; had a blast doing it.
So i would like to thank everyone that helped made the show possible; Gerd, Ronny, Jonathan, (and most importantly: myself :p )
Also all the bands that were cool with us grilling them, and even sometimes sending us free stuff.
And last but not least: YOU GUYS for listening!
(I know, it's corny. Still true though)
So long, it's been real!
See you at a show sometime.
