đČ "The bicycle â a slow death for the planet."
Thatâs what a banker once said, making economists pause for a moment.
âA cyclist is a disaster for the economy,â he explained.
âHe doesnât buy a car or take out loans to pay for it.
He doesnât pay for car insurance.
He doesnât buy fuel.
He doesnât use paid parking or expensive repairs.
He doesnât cause major accidents.
He doesnât need highways built just for him.
And worst of all â he stays healthy.
Healthy people donât buy as many medicines.
They rarely visit hospitals.
They donât contribute to the GDP through sickness.â
Meanwhile, every new McDonaldâs creates:
đ 30 jobs, including
đšââïž 10 cardiologists,
đŠ· 10 dentists,
đ„€ 10 nutritionists,
âŠand of course, the staff who serve the food.
So â choose wisely:
đŽââïž the bicycle or đ McDonaldâs?
Sometimes, the things that are âbadâ for the economy are exactly whatâs good for the planet â and for us. đđ
PS: Walking is even worse. Pedestrians donât even buy bicycles! đđŻâ€ïžâđ„â€ïžđ«âš
