Why is it always little Black girls that people try to put in a box?

To make them feel small, unwanted, like an outcast. What happened in year 7 is happening all over again just one month into college, same story, new setting.

And the hardest part? It’s a catch-22. She absolutely loves her course. But the blatant racism she faces every day in a school that’s predominantly not us is sickening.

I’ve always said my IG is my safe haven, and transparency is key. I never want to only show the pretty parts of life while the painful parts stay hidden. Some things need light shed on them—and this is one of them.

Bullying is never right. Racism is never right. And this time, I refuse to let it slide.

Full story time coming soon.

A heartfelt photo dump highlighting the struggles of a young Black girl navigating college, paired with a caption addressing bullying, racism, and the reality of raising daughters in predominantly white schools.

35 but honestly feeling and looking younger than I did at 25.

Losing over 4 stone on Mounjaro hasn’t just changed my body, it’s changed my energy, my health, and the way I show up for myself.

This isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about appreciating the journey, the discipline, and finally being able to say I feel good in my own skin.

Raising daughters in this world is no easy thing… but seeing her shine like this makes it worth everything.

Motherhood is equal parts fear and pride. You want to protect them from everything, but you also want to watch them grow into everything you ever dreamed for them.

Took her to Superdrug today for a little skincare + beauty haul. Lip gloss, nail polish, face masks… all the things that make her feel grown but still so little at the same time.

Motherhood has a way of taking you back. Watching her pick out things I couldn’t have at her age makes me realise I’m not just raising her, I’m giving her the childhood I always wanted.

Motherhood and entrepreneurship will have you working 24/7, always thinking about the next step, the next goal, the next sacrifice.

But then I look at her, 6 years old, growing so fast and I’m reminded that this is the life I’m working so hard for.

Taking a day off to just walk, laugh, and be with them feels like the real success. The emails, the deadlines, the pressure can wait. These moments can’t.

For years, I struggled with my body and self-image. In my 20s, I began focusing on myself and my health, slowly losing weight and trying to get my life together. But everything changed after I had my second daughter six years ago. It felt like my body was no longer my own, and self-care took a backseat. I went through a long period where I couldn’t seem to prioritize myself—between motherhood, work, and everything else, I just lost sight of it all.

It wasn’t until this past July that I made the conscious decision to start truly taking care of myself again. I finally decided it was time to put myself first, to focus on my own needs, and to start making real changes. Now, in October, I’m still not exactly where I want to be, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. I’m far from where I was, and that’s worth celebrating.

As a practitioner and aesthetician, I’ve been through it all—the ups, the downs, and everything in between. The treatments I offer my clients? I use them on myself, too. I know firsthand how transformative they can be, not just for your body but for your mind and confidence as well. We’re on this journey together—working through it, step by step, day by day. I’m not just here to guide you; I’m right there with you. You’re not struggling alone, and we’ve got this. Together, we’ll reach your goals—one treatment, one step at a time.

Letter to My Beautiful First Daughter:

Dear Suriah,

The world may not have always been kind to us, but please know that I am always here for you, no matter what.

Mum may not always seem the happiest, but my love for you is unwavering and constant. You’ve been through so much from such a young age—losing me, your grandmother, and later your great grandmother. Life has dealt you some tough cards, and I know it hasn’t been easy. But through it all, I’ve done my best to be there for you, even when it felt like everything was falling apart.

Watching you grow into the beautiful young lady you are becoming is a constant reminder that I’m doing my best, even when I feel like I’m falling short. I know you can be moody and cranky sometimes, and I put that down to the rollercoaster of hormones and growing up. And while I get angry more than I should, I want you to understand that this isn’t about you—it’s about me. I’m still learning how to manage my emotions and working hard to fix myself so I can better support you.

I never want you to feel scared, anxious, or hurt because of my struggles. My hope for you is that you always feel open, honest, and free. Breaking generational curses is no easy task, and I am still battling my own demons. It may seem like I’m distant at times, but please know that my love for you is strong and unwavering, even when it doesn’t always show in the way I want it to.

You are my heart, and I will always be here for you.

With all my love, Mum
