I thought I knew what love was,
Like the sparkle of an eye,
Or the sun the shines above us.
In the way our new born cried.
We had a piece of that once,
If only for a moment.
I’ll never forget those years.
All the times you bought me roses.
You’d kiss me on the forehead
On the way out the door
You thought I was sleeping
But I’ll miss that more than you know
But like the seasons
All good things must end
Fore you took my heart
And crumpled it and threw it to the wind
I’m gunna miss you
The snoring that would fill my room
The way you always smiled and made everything new
I don’t know what I did to finally make you leave
But if you do one thing
Please say you won’t forget me.
