Last night I found the puppies again in the middle of the road.

This is becoming more and more worrying, because they don’t have a safe place to stay and no real protection. As they grow, they will only start wandering further if nothing changes.

They are still just babies… but already living a life where the road is part of their daily reality.

I come with food and care for them as much as I can, but it is not a safe situation for them long-term.

ABANDONED DOGS IN MY VILLAGE — PART 3
Molly and Betty.

After losing their puppies to distemper, life somehow just continues.
I still bring food every day, check their water and make sure the girls are OK.
The council still hasn’t managed to catch Betty for spaying and now she has at least two boyfriends hanging around 😅 One even brought a puppy with him… so now we officially have little Timmy.

And when the girls are not running around the village?
They come to see me.
Wait by the car.
And check if I still remember about them.

I think they just want to feel they are not alone.

Small update about the white puppy ❤️

Looks like some people from our village came and decided to take the white puppy.

Hope they will be able to create a good home for him/her ❤️🙏 I will be 👀!

Update on the 6 puppies ❤️

Sadly, there are now only 5.

The little white puppy is missing.
I suspect that someone who was coming there with bread decided to take it because it looked a bit more unique than the others.

I truly hope it found a decent home.

Now I bring the puppies proper puppy food and fresh water every day thanks to donations.
But I can see that someone else still leaves bread for them, and some time ago even farm animal feed.

This is still the reality for many stray puppies in Bulgaria.

ABANDONED DOGS IN MY VILLAGE — PART 2
Nikita, the newcomer.

Today’s episode is about this beautiful girl who suddenly appeared in our village after being spayed.

Instead of being returned to the place where she originally came from, she was left here. The local council team confirmed this happens often when other areas become overcrowded with stray dogs — animals are simply relocated somewhere else.

The problem is that dogs know their territories.

Nikita does not know this village, the people, the dogs or where to safely find food and water. She is nervous, unsure and keeps her distance from everyone.

I can only imagine how confusing this must be for her.

For now I’m feeding her every day and trying to gain her trust slowly, just like I did with Molly and Betty. I’m also thinking about organising some blankets or a small shelter for her, although I still don’t know if this will become her permanent spot.

People often think that once a street dog is spayed, the story has a happy ending.

But many of them are still alone, scared and surviving day by day.

Welcome to the village, Nikita. 💔🐾

ABANDONED DOGS IN MY VILLAGE — PART 1
6 puppies. Help is not coming.

During the last two days, these 6 little goblins finally learned who brings the food.

No more crying.
No more running away and hiding.

Now they scream at me the moment they see me and try to climb up my legs. I think they miss their mum very badly.

For now, all 6 are still alive and staying in the same abandoned property.

Because the weather turned wet, I made them another small shelter with blankets and a soft bed so they have somewhere dry to hide from the rain.

Today I spoke with people from the local council and asked if anything could be done for these puppies.

The answer was simple:
“No money.”

So there will be no help.
No vaccinations.
No testing.
No shelter.

Until we know if they have distemper or other illnesses, I cannot even try finding homes for them. But honestly, even healthy puppies struggle to get adopted here — and there are six of them.

We urgently need help with:
• vet costs
• puppy food
• deworming treatment

I also discovered today that someone had been feeding them dry food meant for farm animals. Later somebody threw soaked bread into the mud for them.

They are puppies. Not trash.

Sometimes I honestly don’t understand this country.
