Here’s a checklist-style guide of important things every OFW should know when arriving at the airport in the Philippines:

1. eTravel Registration
• Register online at https://etravel.gov.ph
• Do it within 72 hours before arrival
• Save or screenshot your QR code – it’s required at immigration
2. Prepare These Documents
• Valid passport
• Seaman’s Book or contract (if seafarer)
• Arrival QR code (from eTravel)
• Valid government ID (just in case)
3. Use OFW Lanes
• Look for dedicated OFW or Seafarer Lanes at immigration and customs
• You’ll usually get priority processing
4. Customs Rules
• Declare goods properly
• No need to pay tax on personal items, but excessive quantities may be taxed
• Cash limit:
• Max PHP 50,000
• Max USD 10,000 (or equivalent foreign currency)
5. Duty-Free Privileges
• OFWs are allowed to shop Duty-Free within 15 days of arrival (30 days for those from remote areas)
• Bring your passport, boarding pass, or arrival documents as proof
6. Airport Assistance
• POLO/OWWA sometimes has desks at the airport for OFW help
• Ask for help if you need airport transfer or guidance
7. Family Pick-up Reminders
• Coordinate your flight number and ETA with family
• Some airports like NAIA have designated waiting areas
8. Things You Should Avoid Bringing
• Drugs or controlled substances
• Fi****ms or sharp weapons
• Too much alcohol or ci******es (within allowed limit only)
• Pirated goods or restricted items
