The inaugural Bahrain Thoracic Conference (BTC 2026) took place on January 8-9 under the theme "Recent Advancements in the Diagnosis and Management of Thoracic Diseases."

Organized by Government Hospitals and inaugurated by Lieutenant General Doctor Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health, the conference brought together consultants and experts to discuss the latest developments in chest and respiratory diseases.
The programme covered asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary hypertension, chest infections, thoracic surgery, respiratory care, and mechanical ventilation — reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to advancing healthcare and continuous medical education.

Ministers toured the 'Hawa Al Manama' event at Manama Market.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications; Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works; Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism; and Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, visited the cultural celebration highlighting Manama's heritage.
The event features interactive activities, food experiences, museums, and exhibitions — all reflecting the capital's history and culture as part of Bahrain National Day 2025.

The Education Minister met with a delegation from Boston University.
Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma received Dr. Penny Bishop, Dean of Boston University Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, to discuss ongoing cooperation with Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari Teachers College.
The partnership has resulted in Master's programmes in Educational Leadership and Curriculum & Teaching, with preparations underway for a Doctor of Education programme — aimed at enhancing professional training for Bahrain's teachers and school administrators through partnerships with leading international universities.

Gulf Air has confirmed the return of its seasonal flights to Geneva and Nice as part of its Summer 2026 schedule.

The routes will operate twice weekly with a stop in Milan, offering travellers from Bahrain and the GCC convenient access to popular European summer destinations. Flights to Nice begin in late May, while Geneva services start in early June.

Bookings are now open across all Gulf Air channels.
