Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met Stephanie Hallett, US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Qays Hatim Zu’bi, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain.

The meeting reviewed the strength and continued development of the longstanding strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States, particularly in the fields of trade and investment.

The Minister highlighted the importance of further enhancing coordination and joint cooperation to advance shared interests.

The meeting also discussed regional and international developments, along with a number of issues of mutual concern.

His Highness Lieutenant Colonel Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended a ceremony honouring First Lieutenant Shaikh Duaij bin Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, in recognition of his participation in the Marathon des Sables in the Kingdom of Morocco, organised by the Military Sports Federation in cooperation with the Bahrain Athletics Association.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the prowess of the Kingdom’s sports sector, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, which have empowered Bahraini athletes and enabled them to succeed.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman affirmed that the global sporting achievements of Team Bahrain across disciplines are a source of national pride and a testament to the talent of the youth of Bahrain.

His Highness congratulated First Lieutenant Shaikh Duaij bin Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa on completing the renowned Marathon des Sables, one of the world’s most demanding races, becoming the first Bahraini ever to finish the event.

His Highness commended the support of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), and his directives to the Military Sports Federation to encourage and support military athletes.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to lead the Kingdom’s delegation to the consultative summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Etihad Rail Freight, a subsidiary of Etihad Rail and Al Masaood Automobiles , have completed the first-ever rail transport of finished passenger vehicles for an automotive dealership - a significant step in the evolution of the nation’s logistics sector. The milestone saw a shipment of Nissan passenger vehicles transported from ports on the Eastern Coast to the dry port at the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD), marking a new chapter in how goods travel across the country.

Al Masaood Automobiles, the authorised distributor for Nissan, INFINITI, and Renault in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra region, has partnered with Etihad Rail Freight to transport the shipment, becoming the first automotive dealer in the country to do so.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Dr. Alexey Skosyrev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.

His Majesty the King commended the efforts of His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, in strengthening the longstanding relations between Bahrain and Russia. His Majesty discussed with the Russian Ambassador the strong bilateral ties, exploring means to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. His Majesty wished him success in his duties.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, inspected the launch of the first assessment tests for students applying to the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in government schools.

Around 3,000 students from the first intermediate grade across all government intermediate schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain are participating in the assessments. Dr. Juma visited several testing centres, where he reviewed the distribution of students and the conduct of examinations, and met with teaching and administrative staff and parents.

The Education Minister described the launch of the first stage of assessments leading to enrolment in the IB programme in government schools as an important step for the education system in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He wished students success in the programme.

Students are competing for 400 seats allocated equally between boys and girls. The first day included mathematics and science exams, followed by an English language test in cooperation with the British Council, and subsequent interviews. The top 400 students based on performance will be selected to form the first cohort of IB students in government schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
