Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) is preparing for the 36th edition of the Autumn Fair 2026, taking place from January 22-31, with wide participation from international exhibitors.

Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairman of EWB, said the fair is one of the most prominent annual events, playing a key role in boosting tourism and supporting economic activity. She noted that hosting the event at EWB ensures a comfortable and smooth experience for visitors, due to its large spaces and advanced facilities.

This year’s fair will include new pavilions, thousands of imported products from around the world, displays of traditional crafts and foods, an expanded cooking area, and family-friendly activities, enhancing the visitor experience for all age groups.

The event will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Halls 2, 3, 5, and 6 at EWB. Entry is free, with prior registration required through the official website.

Mr Arpan Stephen, E-Learning Specialist at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has been awarded the "E-Learning Visionary of the Year" title at the Global Leadership Awards 2025.

The ceremony was held in the Indian capital, New Delhi, last December, in recognition of his significant contributions and efforts in developing the e-learning ecosystem and fostering innovation at both regional and international levels.

Dr Mohammed Saleh Madadin, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, reaffirmed the University’s continuous commitment to advancing e-learning systems within medical education. He highlighted the University's focus on utilising the latest educational technologies and interactive digital platforms, alongside adopting advanced digital solutions that enhance the learning experience and improve the efficiency of medical education outcomes.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Royal Guard of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) as part of ongoing visits to BDF units. The visit was attended by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the BDF.

His Majesty was received by Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council; Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard’s Special Operations; Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, BDF Chief of Staff; Major General Hamad Khalifa Al Noaimi, Deputy Royal Guard Commander; and a number of senior officers.

HM the King then visited the Royal Guard Special Operations Museum. Lt. Gen. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and Colonel HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad briefed His Majesty on plans to develop the Royal Guard and equip it with advanced weapons and capabilities.

HM the King also congratulated all BDF personnel on the New Year, wishing them continued success.

Al Hilal Premier Hospital has achieved a historic milestone after being awarded the Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery accreditation by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), USA, officially becoming the only hospital in the Kingdom of Bahrain to hold this prestigious international accreditation.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, won the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Sports Award for 2025 in the Arab Sports Personality category, in recognition of His Highness’ contributions and influential efforts in developing sports and strengthening its developmental role at the regional and international levels.

The award was presented during a ceremony held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as part of the World Sports Summit, which is one of the largest global sports gatherings and is held under the slogan “Uniting the world through sport”. The summit was attended by a select group of sports leaders, decision-makers, experts and sports stars from around the world.
