Arabian Gulf University celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the Professional Diploma in Cybersecurity, offered by the Department of Computing in the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences, in collaboration with the University’s Center for Community Service, Consultancy, Training, and Continuing Education. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the University President, Dr. Saad bin Saud Al-Fahaid, as well as a number of faculty and administrative staff members and the graduates’ guardians.

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Ministry of Education and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) held the 2026 UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education ceremony at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, Dr. Khaled El Enany, Director General of UNESCO, senior UNESCO officials, representatives of education ministries from around the world, members of the diplomatic corps, media representatives, heads of national commissions for education, science and culture, researchers and specialists, as well as Bahraini students studying at French universities.

The Education Minister and UNESCO's Director General presented the award to the two winning projects for 2026: Generation AI, submitted by universities in the Republic of Finland led by the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Helsinki and the University of Oulu, along with a number of partners; and Redação Paraná, submitted by the Paraná State Department of Education in the Federative Republic of Brazil.

Dr. Juma delivered Bahrain's address at the ceremony, conveying the greetings of HM the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and their congratulations to the winners. He also conveyed Bahrain's leadership's appreciation for the longstanding partnership with UNESCO, of which the award is one of the outcomes.

The Education Minister congratulated the winners and expressed appreciation to the jury for its efforts in evaluating the nominations and selecting the winning projects.

The Royal Medical Services (RMS), in cooperation with BDA Conferences and Exhibitions, will organise Bahrain’s First Cardiovascular Diseases Conference on September 11 - 12, bringing together doctors, specialists and healthcare professionals involved in cardiovascular care.

Held under the supervision of Conference Chairman Dr. Hussam Noor and Scientific Committee Chairman Dr. Noor Al Daem Yousif, the conference aims to support continuing medical education, promote the exchange of medical knowledge and expertise, and strengthen collaboration across medical specialities and levels of care.

The scientific programme will cover a wide range of cardiovascular topics, focusing on practical challenges, complex clinical cases and decision-making in daily medical practice. t will also address integrated and patient-centred care across primary and secondary healthcare and specialised cardiac centres.

The conference is aimed at medical students, general practitioners, emergency physicians, internal medicine physicians and specialists, and is accredited by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) for 12 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

BRAVE CF 108 ENTERS HISTORY BOOKS AS FIRST GLOBAL MMA EVENT INSIDE ROMAN COLOSSEUM

BRAVE Combat Federation made history at BRAVE CF 108 by bringing modern mixed martial arts into one of the world's most enduring monuments to combat.On Saturday, September 5, the Bahrain-based promotion staged its event at P**a Arena in Croatia, becoming the first major global MMA organization to hold a fight card inside a Roman amphitheater.

Nearly 2,000 years after the historic structure was built, its ancient walls once again surrounded a spectacle of combat. The weapons and customs of the Roman era were long gone, replaced by gloves, unified rules, and the technical sophistication of modern MMA.

P**a Arena is one of the six largest and best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world. Built for massive crowds and grand spectacles, the imposing structure provided a remarkable setting for BRAVE CF's "Modern Gladiators" theme.

“Our ethos is about elevating the experience of watching live sport while honoring the past,” BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid said.“P**a Arena allowed us to connect the heritage of combat with modern MMA and give fans an experience that could not be replicated in a conventional venue.”

Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), attended the Concours of Elegance 2026, hosted at Hampton Court Palace in the United Kingdom. The event featured a collection of some of the world’s rarest and most distinguished classic and historic cars and attracted leading collectors, experts and enthusiasts in the field.

She explained that Bahrain’s participation in international tourism events provides an important opportunity to showcase its diverse tourism and cultural offerings and highlight its ability to deliver distinctive experiences that combine authentic Bahraini identity with excellence in organising world-class events.

As part of the event, the CEO presented the BTEA Award to the 1939 Voisin C30 Saloon, one of only five surviving examples of the model worldwide and the only one that retains this unique bodywork from the time of its manufacture. The Royal Bahrain Concours Award was also presented to the 1933 Aston Martin Le Mans, regarded as one of the most historically significant surviving Aston Martin cars.

Buhiji noted that selecting and honouring the two cars reflects a commitment to celebrating automotive heritage, craftsmanship and outstanding design. It also embodies the ongoing collaboration between BTEA and Thorough Events, the organiser of both the Concours of Elegance and the Royal Bahrain Concours.
