RIP❤️🙏 Dexter Wansel (August 22, 1950 – May 31, 2026) was an American keyboardist, arranger, producer, synthesist, and composer who served as a core architect of the iconic 1970s Philadelphia soul scene. Operating out of Gamble and Huff’s legendary Philadelphia International Records (PIR), Wansel pioneered a signature “space funk” sound by blending traditional R&B orchestration with futuristic modular synthesizer arrangements. The anime industry is mourning the loss of legendary composer Yuji Ohno, who has passed away at the age of 84.

Best known for creating the iconic jazz-heavy soundtrack of Lupin the Third, Ohno became one of the most influential composers in anime history through his unique musical style that defined the franchise for decades.

According to official statements, Ohno passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 4 after reportedly spending his days normally before his death.

Following the news, fans and fellow creators across Japan paid tribute to his legacy, thanking him for the unforgettable music that shaped generations of anime viewers.

Many fans believe Lupin the Third would never have felt the same without Yuji Ohno’s legendary compositions.
