My birthday is ruined, I’m crying so bad right now. My teapot exploded on me, hot water all down my thigh & almost my crotch. Hitting the leg I broke the most, I can see white meat in one area…. I’m crying so bad, I don’t have scars on my legs; it’s something im always complimented on, my broken leg surgery was my first scar. Now my thigh is going to look crazy, Idk… my birthday is done already, may have to go to hospital. Another medical bill, and I barely posted my wishlists for my bday. My dogs were scared, they know I’m hurt & had to yell at them not to jump on me when I know they’re just trying to save me in their own way. I feel terrible… dk if I’ll post the pics, they’re graphic in nature. I have thick thick thighs, unsure how I’m going to walk my dogs or even sleep since I sleep in my stomach.
So, the pain has subsided A LOT since last night. The burn was way bigger than I anticipated, they peeled a big chunk of skin off my right thigh. After shift change I got the most amazing WHITE MALE NURSE, my doctor was Hispanic and young asf. I got there around 5, I didn’t have until almost 9. This man came right in administered medicine twice in my IV in 1-2 hrs, was peeling the skin cleaning & bandaging me immediately after the second dose of medicine. Empathy, compassion? He had it!
Considering where my burn was, I went in with only a thong on. This man made sure I was covered correctly, closed the curtain when him & his assistant cleaned & bandaged me. Helped me to stand up, & get my pants on; no weird energy or s*xual vibe. Came back 3-4 times to check on my before discharge, went through every detail because it’s a burn scar of what to do & got me referred to the burn clinic for Monday to get rebandaged & cleaned. This man was in his 60’s-70’s. He did great! Dr subpar!
