Being an environmentalist is more than a title, it means taking action 🌎🦜🐢

I’m proud to be an advisor of the Caribbean Wildlife Enforcement Network (CAR-WEN) Working Group, as we combat wildlife crime throughout the Caribbean. Within this leadership team role, I am able to utilize my knowledge and skills as we build towards a formal regional enforcement network, aimed at mitigating and ending wildlife crimes. This is a movement that goes beyond words and is part of a movement to protect the region’s biodiversity and natural resources.

It was an honor to receive the Leadership & Service Award during the commencement ceremony of the first ever graduating class of Creative and Performing Arts School in Nassau, Bahamas. An award such as this symbolizes:

• Inspiring the doubtful, hesitant and curious
• Uplifting those who feel weak or wanting to abandon themselves in an emotional moment
• Standing in the gap for those who couldn't stand for themselves
• Being a voice for the voiceless
• Bringing a powerful presence and word into a room with a roar or a whisper, when the air is thick

Being a leader is about being present, being relatable, connecting amongst the crowd and not only meeting them where they are but uplifting them simultaneously. To serve is to lead and I am extremely proud and touched to be chosen for this award.

As a leader, your actions and influence will be the ripple effects that impact tomorrow. Continue to the blueprint.
