Tomorrow, Saturday 14 March 2026, we will be hosting representatives of Down Syndrome Association Bahamas, who will be talking to us about World Down Syndrome Day, which is observed annually on March 21st. It is a global movement celebrating the abilities and rights of individuals with Down Syndrome. Joining us will be President Betty Taylor, Trustee Sheena Ytil and Member (Parent) Dr. Roker-Davis.

Why March 21st?
โ€ข The date represents the triplication of the 21st chromosome - which causes Down Syndrome.
โ€ข It's a day of awareness, education, and celebration worldwide.

2026 Theme: "Together Against Loneliness"
โ€ข Loneliness is a major issue for persons with disabilities.
โ€ข Inclusion is not just physical presence-it's meaningful participation.

Our goal is to foster community connection.

When we wear our socks, we start conversations.

What Is "Rock Your Socks"?
โ€ข Wearing colorful, mismatched socks symbolizes diversity.
โ€ข It's fun, visible, and sparks dialogue.
โ€ข It's something everyone can participate in โ€” schools, businesses, churches, families.

When we Rock Our Socks, we're sending a message that individuals with Down Syndrome are valued, capable, and never alone. Inclusion starts with visibility, and visibility starts with us.

How Can Businesses & Individuals Get Involved?
โ€ข Encourage staff participation.
โ€ข Share photos on social media.
โ€ข Allow dress-down sock day.
โ€ข Purchase socks in bulk for staff.
