This Saturday, 26 September 2026, DeAndra will host the Reverend Dr. Kari Xavier Marcelle, who currently serves as the 7th Rector of St. Gregory The Great Anglican Church and will soon be celebrating his 15th anniversary to the priesthood.

Fr. Marcelle was ordered Deacon on 15th December 2010 and ordained Priest on 29th September 2011 in the Diocese of the Winward Islands. In addition, Fr. Marcelle is a professional and trained Educator and lecturer. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of The Bahamas in the College of Social and Educational Studies. In addition, he lecturers with the Anglican Diocese of The Bahamas & The Turks and Caicos Anglican Theological Institute, teaching Church Doctrine / Sacramentology.

He is married to Kandis A. Cato of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and they are proud parents of Kayla - Rose & Kairo and proud adoptive father to Khijuani & Dylan.

Furthermore, he has assumed responsibilities in many tertiary and civic organizations at home and abroad throughout his academic and professional life. Dr. Marcelle is the appointed Honorary Consul of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. In addition, he serves as an appointed and trained Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Dr. Marcelle is a trained and certified Psychological First Aid Responder.

Fr. Marcelle has a genuine passion to empower and inspire children and youth to reach their full potential. His personal philosophy and practice even in his ministry is, “model then teach, words can be cheap, actions are what demonstrate reality”.

Most importantly, Kari Marcelle loves Jesus and strives daily to be a constant Christian by a continual awareness of God’s presence and power in and working through his life. Fr. Marcelle’s favorite scripture is, Matthew 14:27: “But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don't be afraid, “he said. “Take courage. I am here!”

(1844), “The sixth-grade student at San Pedro International School says he wanted to challenge himself to sit the Spanish examination while still in primary school. He now hopes to sit the Spanish BCSE in grade eight.”

Vice President Lakell Johnson and Treasurer Sharon Scavella of the BLA spoke about the organization’s history, purpose and programmes, including tutoring, teacher recognition, webinars and more!

On Saturday 29 August 2026, DeAndra V. Cartwright hosted representatives of the Bahamas Alzheimers Association (BAA) and the Rotary Club of South Ocean (RCSO) on The Happy Hour on Guardian Radio 96.9FM.

Karen Thompson of RCSO and Dr. Indira Grimes & Deidre Maycock of the BAA spoke about Alzheimer’s, other forms of dementia, activities and advocacy in support of Alzheimer’s, September being Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and the events being planned, including the upcoming Care for the Caregivers Seminar, scheduled for Saturday 5 September 2026 at 9:00am at Grace Community Church.

On Saturday 22 August 2026, DeAndra V. Cartwright hosted Long Island athlete Gregory Seymour on The Happy Hour on Guardian Radio 96.9FM.

The award winning athlete with sights on the 2028 Olympics, 2027 Nationals and the World Championships shared more about his personal journey from the shores of Long Island to training in Canada and also expressed encouragement for younger athletes getting started.
