The 13-day Tendrel Nyesel ceremony featuring the oral transmission of Zhungchen Chusum, known as the Thirteen Great Root Texts, concluded today at Dawathang in Chhuzergang Gewog.
Presided over by Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche, the sacred ceremony drew thousands of monks and devotees from across the country, along with international participants, reflecting its deep spiritual significance. The ceremony, which began on the 1st of this month, was conducted as part of the Salang Tendrel for the construction of the Druk Ugyen Samye Ling Monastery.
During the concluding day, Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche conferred important empowerments including Chokey Sangthik Phurpai Torwang and Thangtong Tshewang, a long-life empowerment for devotees. It is believed that such transmissions help remove obstacles and create auspicious conditions for major undertakings.
The Druk Ugyen Samye Ling Monastery, a key spiritual project under the Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative, is envisioned as a replica of the historic Samye Monastery in Tibet. The monastery, measuring 70 by 70 metres and rising 30 metres high, will be constructed on a 25-acre site and is expected to hold immense spiritual and cultural significance.
Following the conclusion of the ceremony, Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche, along with monks and devotees, are scheduled to participate in a day-long voluntary service tomorrow in support of the Gelephu Mindfulness City project, continuing their contribution beyond the spiritual gathering.
