Bhutan News Update | Miracle Escape from Amochu River!
Tashi Dhendup (24) from Zhemgang and Phurpa Tshering (27) from Chukha — have been discharged from hospital after surviving a terrifying incident in the Amochu (Toorsa) River.
Both were security guards of Rigsar Construction, looking after company vehicles that got trapped in the swollen river. In a desperate attempt, they jumped into the river to save themselves.
Phurpa managed to swim across to the Phuentsholing side, while Tashi was swept away and later found alive on the Samtse side, after many feared he had been washed away.
Their survival is nothing short of a miracle — a true story of courage and hope!
