Trongsa has elected its second female Gup following the bye-election held for Korphu Gewog yesterday.

32-year-old Kuenzang Choden from Nabi Chiwog secured 244 out of 806 votes.

Including her, four candidates contested for the Gup’s post.

The bye-election was held after the former Gup was sentenced for embezzling public funds by the Supreme Court last month.
