BODY RECOVERED FROM THAMALAKANE RIVER

Police have recovered the body of a 46-year-old man who allegedly drowned in the Thamalakane River near Dikgathong Cattle Posts, approximately 27km from Maun.

The incident was reported on Saturday evening after the man reportedly drowned when the fibreglass canoe (mokoro) he was using capsized while attempting to cross the river.

Maun Acting Station Commander, Assistant Superintendent Moutlwatsi Ikobeng, confirmed that the body was recovered at around 12:00 today, following a search operation that began on Sunday morning.

Ikobeng said police could not immediately deploy a search team on Saturday night due to poor visibility.

The deceased, a resident of Botshabelo Ward in Maun, was reportedly employed at Dikgathong Cattle Posts.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Police arrest 29-year old man for suspected murder||

Maun Police have arrested a 29-year old man of Sedie ward in relation to the alleged murder of a 85-year old man of Matsaudi whose body was found buried in a shallow grave at Maphaneng Cattle Post in the outskirts of Maun on Wednesday this week.

According to Officer Commanding District No: 5 Senior Superintendent, Patrick Molefhe police retrieved the body of the deceased upon receiving a report from a passer-by who discovered an unusual scene.

He explained that upon their arrival at the scene they found tire tracks that led to the deceased person's car. Molefhe stated that the suspect was found with a deceased person’s vehicle triggering suspicion that he is involved in his murder.

He also stated that the deceased’s body had injuries, leading to the suspicions that he suffered physical trauma.

A 12YEAR OLD BOY WAS KILLED BY A CROCODILE 🚨

A 12-year-old boy was killed after a crocodile attacked him while he was washing his hands and feet in the Ghaghara River after working in a paddy field in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district. Despite frantic attempts by his uncle and dozens of villagers to save him, the reptile dragged the child into deeper waters. His mutilated body was recovered nearly five hours later.

The incident took place on Thursday evening in the Baundi police station area, around 45 kilometres from the Bahraich district headquarters. A video purportedly showing parts of the attack surfaced on Friday and quickly went viral on social media. Police have confirmed both the incident and the authenticity of the video.
