TRIBUTE TO SHARON SEBONGE: A BELOVED FRIEND, COLLEAGUE, ARTIST, AND MOTHER

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sharon Sebonge, who died on the morning of Thursday, 20 July 2025—just two days before her birthday. Sharon was born on 22 July 1991 in Francistown and originally hailed from Mlabakwena.

She leaves behind her beloved one-month-old daughter, who is in good health. Fatima Barthram, who recently visited with Banjo Mosele, confirmed:

“I can confirm that the baby is healthy, and we are appealing to the public to assist in supporting her, along with Sharon’s mother and siblings—jjlives she had only just begun to shape with love and devotion.”

Sharon will be remembered not only as a loving mother, daughter, and friend but also as a radiant presence and a cherished colleague. Her loss is deeply felt across the many communities she touched through her music, spirit, and warmth.

In honour of Sharon’s life and legacy, her colleagues—Lagendary Banjo Mosele, Nono, Climat Jackson, Makhwenkwe Mengwe, Bra Tshepi Live, and “The Mother of Entertainment from 9ja Chops BW,” Fatima Barthram of King Jagaban Lounge, where Sharon performed every Thursday—have come together to organize a special tribute show at Millennium Jazz Lounge. This event will celebrate Sharon’s vibrant spirit, creative talent, and the lasting impact she made on those around her.

All proceeds from the tribute show will be donated to Sharon’s family to assist with funeral preparations, scheduled to take place in Francistown this coming weekend. Special thanks go to Thapong Café and Daily for offering space and support during the family’s memorial planning.

This tribute is not only a fundraiser but also a heartfelt farewell from a community that truly loved and admired Sharon. All are encouraged to attend, share memories, and help honour the life of an extraordinary woman.9ja chops will be providing food for the memorial service.
