Dr. Swereki of the new book “Problem in the Promise: Unearthing Gender Based Violence in Relationships” stopped by UB Radio, on the Drive Tempo with Obakeng McDaniels Mosepele, this afternoon to talk about his upcoming Book Launch on the 27th September 2025 at the National Museum at 14:30. The book delves into GBV untold stories.

GAOLATHE WELCOMES TEAM BOTSWANA AFTER HISTORIC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TRIUMPH

Gaborone, 25 September 2025 – Acting President and Minister of Finance, Mr. Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe, this morning welcomed Team Botswana athletics at the Office of the President gardens after their historic showing at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. He applauded the squad for lifting the nation’s hopes and highlighted the record haul of two gold medals and one bronze, including the men’s 4×400 metres relay triumph, the first ever by an African nation at the championships.

Mr. Gaolathe emphasised that every athlete, whether on the podium or not, had “written a living page in Botswana’s story of resilience.” He paid tribute to the coaches and technical staff as “guardians and visionaries,” noting that their work had shaped not just medalists but disciplined young men and women who embody the spirit of the nation.

The welcome ceremony drew senior sports leaders, officials, and the media who joined in celebrating a team whose achievements have united the country and inspired the next generation.
