The two-day Creators Assembly started on 20 August, in Gaborone, bringing together content creators and creative-industry players for discussions, networking and knowledge sharing. The initiative, founded by Han-C, aims to strengthen Botswana’s creative sector by giving creatives a platform to connect, learn and explore opportunities within the industry.

Musician and entrepreneur Vee Mampeezy is calling for stronger measures to protect Botswana’s music industry, arguing that international artists have easier access to the local market while Batswana artists face barriers when trying to enter foreign markets. Speaking at the Creators Assembly Summit in Gaborone, he called for measures that would ensure international artists benefiting from Botswana’s market also create opportunities for local talent.

BBS Bank has partnered with the Creators Assembly to support and empower Botswana’s growing creative industry. Speaking at a press conference in Gaborone, BBS Head of Business relations and Marketing Mr. Sipho Showa said the bank is committed to nurturing talent, fostering innovation and creating opportunities for creatives to grow sustainable businesses.

Held under the theme “Creativity: The New Currency,” the Creators Assembly will bring together content creators, digital creators, fashion designers and entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate and unlock new opportunities.

The main event is scheduled for 19–21 August 2026 at the Grand Aria Hotel in Gaborone.
