Our Story
They say that a humble beginning may be all that you need, and this couldn’t be more truer when describing the re launch of Botswana’s free to air station, Gaborone Broadcasting Corporation (GBC TV) to the now revamped eBotswana. Just a few years shy of three decades, the station has managed to reach its milestone by partnering with South Africa’s well known and celebrated channel, e.tv.
eBotswana comes packaged with fresh, vibrant and top notch local and international programming and the brand change takes viewership to a whole new ball game. Batswana now have a cheaper alternative of following their favourite quality programmes and soapies at the same time as their South African counterparts.
eBotswana is a free-to-air terrestrial channel with a target market defined as the general population of Gaborone’s 700 000 people where it operates. The channel’s signal covers the whole of the city and surrounding areas and recently improved its broadcast signal and visual quality by changing the position of its transmitter. eBotswana is broadcast in Gaborone and surrounding areas at a radius of 100 kilometres and broadcasts on VHF signal.
