A strategic partnership between Chobe Holdings and internet solutions provider Abaricom is transforming education outcomes in Maun, where four adopted schools are benefiting from improved infrastructure, internet connectivity, and targeted corporate support.

Chobe Holdings, a leader in Botswana’s tourism sector, has long recognised its responsibility to uplift communities it operates in.

Education, a central pillar of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme, has seen focused investment at Mathiba and Letsholathebe Memorial Primary Schools, along with Sedie and Tsodilo Junior Secondary Schools.

Last night, Cresta Grande Jwaneng unveiled its brand-new Bush Dinner Experience with an intimate media launch under the stars.

"From the warmth of the fire to the sounds of the night, it was a relaxed and memorable evening.

Our chef took centre stage, serving up a beautifully curated three-course dinner. Every plate had a story, simple, tasty, and made to be enjoyed in the heart of nature. "

Since 2010, Chobe Game Lodge has been home to the groundbreaking all-female team that’s not only impacted the lives of its members, but fundamentally changed the narrative around a woman’s role in conservation and tourism in Africa.
Instead of office work, the group of 19 women fans out around the national park daily, driving, educating, and safeguarding lodge guests from around the world.

The all-female guide team didn’t happen by accident. The driving force behind the Chobe Angels initiative was Johan Bruwer, the lodge’s general manager. When Bruwer took the role in 2004, the lodge employed just one female guide. By 2010, the Chobe Game Lodge had transitioned to an all-woman guide team.

The impact of the Chobe Angels extends far beyond representation. The women are exceptional guides, with Bruwer calling the team “better communicators.” Their approach has also yielded unexpected benefits for the business itself.

The Chobe Angels’ influence has resonated beyond Botswana, inspiring similar programs at lodges in Kenya and Zambia. And the lodge has become a vital incubator. Of the approximately 100 female guides now working across Botswana, more than half began their careers with the Chobe Angels.

Bank Gaborone has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to Botswana’s agricultural sector with the official handover of a permanent multi-purpose structure at the Ghanzi Show grounds, a strategic investment exceeding P600,000.

The structure was formally handed over to President Duma Gideon Boko, and the Ghanzi community at the Ghanzi Show recently.

The Bank Gaborone multipurpose hall housed various SMEs showcasing products such as leather goods, yogurt, donkey milk, and ionised coarse salt, reflecting the diversity and potential within Botswana’s local enterprise ecosystem.

This infrastructure reflects Bank Gaborone’s belief in agriculture as a transformative driver of sustainable livelihoods, economic diversification, and national food security.

Designed for long-term impact, the facility will serve as a year-round hub for SMEs, farmers, and youth entrepreneurs, offering a dedicated space to showcase products, conduct business, and strengthen community visibility.

Bank Gaborone has proudly supported the Ghanzi Show for the past 15 years, including ongoing sponsorship of the livestock section and, this year, the provision of an onsite ATM.
