After dally delaying antics, a P20 billion international cargo airport which will elevate the SPEDU region and transform Botswana from a modest transport corridor into a continental economic powerhouse has been signed.

According to the project plan seen by Tuesday grill the development entailing a township and cargo international airport shall be constructed on a 1200 hectare piece of land near Selibe Phikwe. Initially the project was to be erected in Palapye District (Tamasane. Kgagodi) but questions over land acquisition stalled everything until a new place was found.

The proposed airport shall solidify itself as a premier air travel hub. The investment is estimated around P20 billion with some international pension fund managers and other partners as investors. The project is being carried out by a Botswana citizen owned company 123 Dimensions (Pty) Ltd.

CARTER MORUPISI SPILLS THE BEANS...ALLEGES SKELTONS IN THE CLOSET OF CHARLES TIBONE

Open Letter to Saint Charles Tibone.

It was brought to my attention that on Saturday 1st February 2025 at the Funeral of Dr G.K.T. Chiepe Former Minister Charles Tibone was among the speakers and in particular paid tribute as a representative of former Permanent Secretaries who worked with the late Chiepe. I then listened to the recording of the proceedings wherein he states how clean and corruption free they were at the time he was a public officer and went on to state how I am among others responsible for the fall in the country's corruption perception index in his words he state "When the head of the public service get convicted of serious corruption and abuse of office where do you look for solace"
As a seasoned politician and professional talking about me at a funeral where he is aware I would not have the right to reply goes to show how irresponsible he is in his judgement particularly that my case is still before the courts of law (the subjudice principle).

For this reason I would not go into the details of how I got framed by President Masisi, Peter Magosi, Emma Peloetetse, Moemedi Malindah, Boitumelo Molefe, Rhys Carr, Priscilla Israel and others which ultimately led to my conviction and why that was so however the day will come when I will do so.

His gripe with me started in 2015/16 thereabout when I served as BPOPF board of trustees' chairman. Fleming Company where he was a shareholder was allocated about P4 billion to invest on behalf of the pensions fund. On assessment by the secretariat led by Boitumelo Molefe and the Finance and Investment Committee led by PSP Peloetletse recommended to the Board to terminate its services for poor performance.

Realising that as a shareholder they are to make a big loss he approached me at Office of the President seeking an intervention to halt the termination to which I told Saint Charles Tibone that the decision and power rest with the entire Board and it is done on unanimous basis as per the rules of the Board of trustees. He got upset at my insistence as I did not bend to his proposal which was very suggestive of him wanting to corrupt me. How he got to know the confidential board recommendations is he alone who can explain.

His ferocious attack on me was not about reflecting on Dr Chiepe legacy it had to do with this matter I just stated.
Fleming was later acquired by CMB where the current VP Gaolathe was engaged and paid through CMB. He got a softer deal as he was ordered to return the P1.3million by the courts. Despite this been a media news breaker in recent times I wonder how it eluded Saint Charles Tibone not to mention it as his intention and interest seem to be more inclined to the conduct of prominent public office holders.

I wish to remind him that the long awaited and promised forensic audit will also look at the past administrations dealings some of which occurred during his time as Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Minerals questions such as how did you get where you are will be thrown; the diamond briefcase story, government bulls which disappeared at Ramatlabama Artificial Insemination Center and were later found at a former minister's farm (cattle post) in the seventies, and recently the acquisition of Tautona Lodge, the illegal termination of China Jangsiu International Botswana contracts at Ministry of Lands and Water Resources in 2018 which led to loss of jobs by some officers at DCEC after it was found that DIS boss ought to be prosecuted for among others abuse of office. Incidentally I was among the witnesses in this matter, the disappearance of the P150million wilderness shares bought by CMB as an investment for the pension's fund which it's alleged the shares are now under prominent people in Botswana, the continuous illegal mining of gold in Francistown and diamond in Lerala. The big question is; who are the big guns behind all these operations who continue to make millions out of these illegal operations, many of the CEDA loans in arrears owing to the non-payment by those holding public office. The list is endless however every dog will have its day. Of course there is the unknown; 2019 and 2024 election fraud I leave that for all to think about this is Africa.

I conclude by suggesting to him as in the words of one prominent sociologist he must learn to know that before he speaks he should at the very least allow his words to pass through 3 gates

1. Is it true
2. Is it necessary
3. Is it kind for the audience

It is important to do so as customarily at occasions such as funerals you refrain from punctuated offensive rhetoric.
Tlang le mpolaye DIS if you so wish-Carter Nkatla Morupisi
