PUBLIC NOTICE

BOTSWANA POWER CORPORATION (BPC) ELECTRICITY SUPPLY UPDATE: REDUCED BASELOAD GENERATION CAPACITY

1. Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) informs its valued customers that it is currently experiencing reduced electricity generation levels arising from a forced curtailment of supply from the Morupule B Power Station.

2. The power supply constraints have been further compounded by a decrease in solar generation due to the current cloud cover in most areas, locally and regionally.

3. As a result, the Corporation will implement load management from 17 November 2025, primarily during evening hours, with load shedding limited to a maximum of two (2) hours per day. These essential measures are important to maintaining grid stability while ensuring the cost-effectiveness of alternative power sources deployed during this period.

4. The Corporation is diligently working to restore baseload capacity, with power supply expected to improve by the end of November 2025.

5. BPC commits to transparent communication and will provide regular updates on the load shedding schedule through its social media platforms, SMS alerts, and other appropriate channels.

6. The Corporation apologises for any inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience as it works to restore stable power supply. Customers are further urged to conserve electricity, especially during peak hours (6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM), to support grid stability and manage costs effectively.

Thank you

Ms. Kefilwe Batsalelwang Kebafetotse
Marketing and Communications Manager
