TSHEPISO LETSIDIDI: BOTSWANA’S MOST NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL
By [Mompati Pilatwe]
Gaborone, Botswana
– Tshepiso Letsididi has earned a reputation as one of Botswana’s most dangerous criminals, with a trail of violence targeting women and children. His brutal crimes—including r**e, murder, and robbery—have left communities in fear and raised questions about justice and rehabilitation in the country’s prison system.
A History of Violence
Letsididi’s criminal record is a horrifying catalogue of brutality. In 2015, he r**ed and killed a schoolgirl in Molepolole, a case that is only now heading to trial. In 2022, he murdered a woman and her grandchild in the same village before stealing her car. Shortly after, he fled to Mochudi, where he r**ed another woman, stole her vehicle, and hid in her ceiling to evade capture.
His victims often identify him by his deformed hand—a chilling detail that underscores his notoriety.
Behind Bars, But Still a Threat
Despite being incarcerated, Letsididi continues to wreak havoc. Recently, he and another inmate, Obuile Nkwala, were accused of ra**ng a fellow prisoner at Central Prison. Reports indicate the attack occurred late at night, leaving the victim with severe injuries.
Letsididi is already serving multiple lengthy sentences—15 years for ra**ng a 15-year-old girl and 35 years for another r**e and robbery involving an 8-year-old. Yet, he still faces three separate murder trials, proving that his reign of terror is far from over.
As Letsididi’s cases proceed, one thing is clear: his name remains synonymous with fear, and the public is watching closely to see if justice wil prevail.
