BOTSWANA CELEBRATES HISTORIC OPENING OF FIRST PEDIATRIC OPERATING ROOM AT PRINCESS MARINA HOSPITAL

Botswana achieved a healthcare milestone on Tuesday June 24 with the opening of its first dedicated pediatric operating room at Princess Marina Hospital, funded by British philanthropist Stephen Philip Lansdown. The new facility, designed specifically for children with specialized equipment and a child-friendly setting, resolves challenges caused by previous shared adult-child operating theatres. The launch, attended by top national officials, highlights the importance of children’s health for national development. Lansdown plans to further support education in Botswana.
