For the love of Goat Meat..
Three gentlemen were arrested on Friday evening in connection with stealing 17 goats from a farmer in Toteng. Another suspect (pictured in the orange hat) who goes by the alias Karii/Sammy is still wanted and remains a fugitive from Police.
According to our sources the goat thieves were arrested by Maun Police in Shashe ward in Maun. The crime which was said to have occurred on Thursday evening in Toteng, was reported the following morning by the victims.Thanks to swift action by Maun Police the suspects were arrested whilst attempting to sell some of the goats which they had already slaughtered, to an unsuspecting customer.
The quartet is believed to be organised as they managed to transport the goats from Toteng to Maun in the dark of night. Thereafter they proceeded to register their own goats at a Kgotla, only to go back home and slaughter the stolen goats with the aim of selling them using the registration they had obtained from the Kgotla.
At the time of going to press, the suspects are believed to still be in police custody, whilst one of them is still on the run.
