Botswana’s vibrant pop-rock artist Motswafere, born Motswakgakala Sithole, has announced his debut book and album, both titled Motswaferé: Public Death – The Ultimate Sacrifice 33, set for release on March 15, 2026. The 33-year-old musician, known for his electrifying performances on My Star Botswana in 2012, shared the news in a moving social media post where he courageously revealed he is HIV positive. Motswafere discovered his status later in life, a revelation that led to struggles with depression and inconsistent treatment due to the weight of his public persona. He now embraces his journey, urging others to take their medication without shame and to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

A prominent LGBTIQ+ activist, Motswafere’s music blends Afro-pop-rock with powerful messages addressing homophobia, gender-based violence, and social justice. He credits supporters like Mma P, who encouraged him to speak out, and his manager, Dave Thomas, for standing by him. Motswafere plans a 14-day spiritual retreat in the mountains, drinking only water, as a time of consecration and surrender to God. He describes his music as a “living Bible,” reflecting his life’s trials and triumphs, aiming to inspire hope and healing.

Bottle Thrown at NKK Express Bus Endangers Passengers

Recently, a dangerous incident occurred on the road to Rakops when an unknown person threw a bottle at an NKK Express night bus. The bus, which left Maun at 7:30 PM, had its windscreen shattered by the bottle, causing glass particles to injure the driver’s eyes. The culprit, reportedly traveling in a white sedan, either a Corolla or VW, fled the scene without stopping.

An anonymous tipster described the incident as life-threatening, stating, “The lives of many passengers were at risk. If the driver had panicked, this could have ended in tragedy.” The tipster urged anyone with information about the culprit to contact the Botswana Police or the NKK office to report details.

This reckless act has raised concerns about road safety and the need for accountability. Authorities are investigating and calling for witnesses to come forward. NKK Express has assured passengers that they are working with police to ensure justice is served. The public is reminded to act responsibly and avoid endangering others on the road.Anyone with information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or NKK office immediately.

This morning in Sehithwa village, three Maun bouncers in handcuffs were demonstrating how they robbed a tuckshop at the said village. The three musketeers are alleged to have yesterday approached the tuckshop belonging to one of Botswana former boxing champion or star asking for e-wallet banking services, upon being told that the money he had wasn't enough for the amount they asked for ,they later cornered him and took his phones and all the money he made that day. They were later arrested next to Masters Valley bar in Maun by the bridge. This is a developing story.
