She was born in Norfolk, Virginia, she attended Shaw University and played a pivotal role in the formation of numerous organizations. She supported Angela Davis, stood alongside Fannie Lou Hamer and the Freedom Riders, and was a significant figure in the women's rights movement. Some perceived her as a communist or a sympathizer of the communist movement due to her support for Angela Davis and her relentless pursuit of women's equality. The film premiering on September 14th will offer a glimpse into her remarkable career.

There are layers to a person's greatness, and there are also layers to why their greatness is not in full play. My films about Ella Baker and Marvin Gaye are those types of films. The first is the introduction, the second is sharing their greatness, closing with how great their contribution to the civil rights movement and the arts were. Miss. Baker Script update: At a point in the script where her presence has become more of a need because of the militant, rebellious, conversation students from HBCU schools are having on campus. Students are moving from what Malcolm called the capacity to love to a more resistant vocal stance. Ms. Willa B. Player, the president of Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, boycotted the Meyer’s Tea Room, a restaurant that had prohibited Black people from sitting in their dining area. I cannot consider myself a leader, or educator of the finest young ladies in the land if I do not stand in solidarity with them. The film will not only focus on her skills as a great organizer but will also share stories of how much she inspired countless warriors to fight on.
