What makes something a Christmas Movie to you?

Is having a few scenes enough? The Harry Potter movies have some fantastic and memorable Christmas sequences but I personally wouldn't consider them Christmas movies.

What about if the movie takes place during that time of year, but the story doesn't really reflect anything to do with Christmas. One example is Iron Man 3. I wouldn't classify it as a Christmas movie but I can see an argument to be made in favor for it as well.

And then there are movies that maybe have nothing to do with the holidays but we still have a tradition of watching them during this time. For me those movie are the Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended cut obv haha.) Christmas doesn't even exist in Middle Earth but there is something about those movies that feels like they belong.

So what do you think? What is required for you to consider something a Christmas movie? Do you have any non-Christmas movies that you like to watch during the Holiday season?
