Congratulations Chief Terry!

I had the honour of speaking with Chief Terry and what he has done for Membertou is nothing short of amazing. It comes as no surprise that he has been recognized for his outstanding work!

Last night, Chief Terry Paul was named as one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEO’s by Atlantic Business and the greatest honour of the evening, he was named CEO of the Year 2022 for Atlantic Canada.

Recognized for his leadership within the community of Membertou and the Membertou Development Corporation, Chief Terry said that after 38 years of leading, he is still honoured every day to represent his community.

Congratulations Chief Terry! We’re so proud, and thank you for your commitment to Membertou.

💡If there’s one thing that will prevent you from getting results and capitalizing on your best ideas, it’s waiting for the perfect plan.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that nothing kills progress like a brilliant strategy. When I review my career, I can honestly say that any success I have experienced has had less to do with strategic planning and almost everything to do with action.

I’m not saying I don’t plan, nor am I suggesting that you abandon any attempt to craft an articulate vision for your life, career or organization. Everyone needs a destination and a basic plan for reaching it. But I have observed that the main thing preventing people from reaching that desired destination is unwitting procrastination, most often in the form of the hunt for a brilliant plan.

Chief Terry Paul has achieved many notable accomplishments.
- Doubling the land base for the Membertou Reserve
- Increasing the employment rate within Membertou to nearly 80%
- Infrastructure including the multi-million dollar Membertou Trade and Convention Centre, Entertainment Centre, and the 5-star Kiju's Restaurant

These are just a few examples of the many accomplishments during Chief Paul's leadership.
