Caledon residents aged 55 and over have access to indoor walking tracks at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness (CCRW) and the Caledon East Community Complex (CECC).

At CECC, adults 55+ can register for a free walking track membership during designated times. At CCRW, seniors can access the track through a walking track membership, with free access available for Caledon Seniors Centre members.

It’s a simple, low-impact way to stay active year-round, especially during the winter months.

A new Ontario Provincial Police Community Safety Office has officially opened in downtown Bolton, bringing officers closer to residents and local businesses.

The office, located at the Humber River Centre, replaces the former site at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness and is intended to increase visibility, accessibility, and day-to-day community engagement. While it’s not a full reporting station, residents may be able to speak with an officer on site when available or by appointment.

The move comes after years of community advocacy for a stronger police presence in Bolton’s downtown core, particularly as local safety concerns continue to be top of mind for residents.

Following a rise in extortion incidents linked to organized crime, Caledon’s Mayor is urging the federal government to step in with stronger resources, enforcement, and legislation.

OPP have investigated 41 extortion cases in the past two years, including multiple shootings tied to threats against residents and businesses. While recent federal funding for Peel Regional Police is being welcomed, the Mayor says it’s only a start, and that sustained action is needed to restore safety and confidence in the community.

This issue has left families fearful, businesses targeted, and neighbours on edge. Local leaders are now pushing for tougher border controls, stronger laws, and real consequences for those behind these crimes.

Community safety isn’t political, it’s personal.

Let’s celebrate Caledon’s sporting heroes. 🏅

On January 28, local athletes, builders, and teams with deep Caledon roots will be inducted into the 2026 Caledon Sport Hall of Fame. From swimming and soccer to lacrosse and fastball, this year’s inductees represent decades of dedication, achievement, and community pride.

It’s a night about recognizing the people and teams who helped put Caledon on the map, and the legacy they’ve built along the way.

Know someone in Caledon who gives their time, talent, or leadership to make the community better?

Nominations are open for the 2026 Caledon Civic Awards, which recognize residents making a real impact through:

• Volunteer Service (community, sports, arts, environment, social services)
• Citizen Achievement (sport, arts, or culture at the provincial, national, or international level)

This is a chance to spotlight the coaches, mentors, neighbours, organizers, and community champions whose efforts often happen quietly — but matter deeply.

There’s something special about sharing a kitchen across generations.

Generations in the Kitchen brings older adults and kids together to cook, bake, decorate, and spend quality time learning side by side. It’s less about perfect recipes and more about connection, confidence, and shared memories.

The next session takes place February 16 (11 a.m.–1 p.m.), with registration opening January 12. A great opportunity for grandparents, or older adults, to spend meaningful time with a young person in their life while picking up some kitchen skills along the way.

As of January 1, 2026, Caledon’s new Tree Preservation By-law is now in effect. Residents may need a permit before removing or injuring trees on private property that are 30 cm or larger in diameter, unless an exemption applies.

The by-law is intended to protect Caledon’s urban tree canopy while balancing growth and environmental stewardship. Dead or hazardous trees are exempt, and residents unsure about permit requirements are encouraged to contact the Town before proceeding.
