We are delighted to announce the addition of a new member to our team!
Everyone, meet Saular Yazdani Fard
đď¸Sal is a weird guy! His full name is Salar (sa:la:r) and he goes about thinking and doing things in ways that are not as common. Heâs a non-conformist if you will.
đSal holds a bachelorâs degree in Medical Sciences from Westernđ As if that wasnât enough, he went for a second degree in Software Development at Seneca College. Still, he considers himself better educated in philosophy, psychology, and politics, than anything he went to school for.
đź Sal plays a few roles at DDD, from co-hosting TheCorner (our podcast) and creating content, to developing marketing strategies. He loves to learn more about the business world and spends his time reading, debating, and playing with his new RC carđď¸ He has been watching âHouse MDâ on Amazon Prime over the last months and prefers films to movies (apparently thereâs a distinctionđ¤ˇââď¸).
âHereâs how he answered some of our questions:
Do you have an idol?
- âYes! I have many! I look at idolization as a form of romanticism, and I think romanticizing is a beautifully crucial part of everyday living. As humans, we have romanticized our heroes and idols in our stories for millennia, and I think that has something to do with our psychological tendency to learn better from that which we romanticize. This is why I try to find idols everywhere and learn as much as I can from them. But, in the end, I use critical thinking as my guide to outgrow my idols. Here are a few people who have left a big impact on me: Carl Jung (psychologist), Lars von Trier (filmmaker), Alan Watts (philosopher)â
What does innovation mean to you?
âDaring to experiment with failure. Burning down the old ways of thinking and doing and realizing that everything is built upon the ashes of its former self.â
Whatâs a cause that youâre passionate about?
âThere are so many, but I summarize them in humanism. Regardless of their beliefs and backgrounds, I believe in empowering humans, especially the disempowered ones. This is why I take a strong stance against oppression and unethical consumerism and passionately advocate for human rights, focusing on global access to education, healthcare, and natural resources such as clean water."
Welcome to the team, Sal! You weirdo đ
