How are you faring financially during this pandemic? While most of us are suffering drastic income loss watching our favourite local haunts go bankrupt it’s important to keep an ear to the ground and think about those that have been recording record profits. You know, the ones that are “reimagining capitalism”

People worry about their government controlling them, worry about how the government handles their privacy but don’t even bat an eye when free enterprise handles and exchanges their information especially if they get something free out of it.

But if it’s a free service... how do they make so much damn money? 🤔

If your interested just head to www.macrotrends.net search any company you like, interested in the stock exchange? Consider observing fluctuations in conjunction with lockdowns in the USA and other large markets.

How many people have fit bits? How would you enjoy being required to wear it? More specifically how would you enjoy health insurance companies require you wear them and share its data to qualify for their policies? How about whether you know it or not your iPhone has been storing health data without you ever needing to open the app or register for it.

Future sounds pretty rad doesn’t it. Anyways, scroll on I’ll bet there’s a cute video of a cat or puppy just a few posts down.

Wearable devices like Fitbit and Apple Watch have become almost ubiquitous in recent years as users look for easier and better ways to monitor their health — now life insurance companies want that data too.

Trump administration is looking into allowing Snowden back into the USA. For those of you who may have forgotten, Snowden risked his life exposing the ridiculous surveillance measures the NSA were taking on their own citizens and has since been labelled a traitor and enemy of the state.

Group of “front line doctors” advocating Hydroxychloroquine censored by Facebook, Twitter, google. Website was removed by square space for violating terms of service. Big claims by real physicians, they’re likely to build a following due to this censorship.

The real pity here from all the conflicting information regarding covid-19 is that it seems we are not trusted to think for ourselves, tech companies are dictating what we should believe more than ever.

-Eliminate the slight of hand tactics used by psychographic advertisers by eliminating/limiting data collection

-Actively search for kernels of truth in opinions of others you may not initially agree with. At least acknowledge that information you may have found may contradict another’s but fundamentally both sides have truths.

-Stop. Being. So. Damn. Offended.

By allowing personalization in the way we search for information (google search) among other tactics within social media we have inadvertently built invisible but firm walls around ourselves and other like minded people. This makes anybody outside of those walls seem outlandish and points them as being the enemy. Break those walls
