SAVE this for 7 things to do on a rainy Tofino weekend 🌲
Beautiful clear conditions are not the norm in Tofino, so planning for rain is your best bet, even when visiting in the summer.
We stayed at the hotel and LOVED it - we highly recommend it 🙌
- Explore Tofino town and harbour: the town is full of super cute shops, cafes, restaurants and other places to mooch around.
- Walk the boardwalk trail to Tonquin Beach: these boardwalks take you through beautiful ancient forests, keeping you mostly covered from the rain, and the beach is beautiful in any weather 🌦️
- Book a beachfront sauna with : we booked a 90 minute sauna session, split up with runs to the ocean for cold plunges right on Cox Beach. One of the highlights of our trip for sure 🙌
- Book a plane tour with : we took the Sand to Summit tour with Tofino Air and this was the absolute highlight point of our trip - we even saw whales down below us! If you get a semi clear day, we can’t recommend this experience enough ✈️
- Walk Cox Beach at sunset: although the cloudy weather can mean less dramatic sunsets, it’s still a beautiful time to walk the beach and watch the sun go down.
- Eat: we ate at for dinner and their sister restaurant for lunch and LOVED both 🤤
- If you’re staying at Pacific Sands, head to Pettinger Point to watch the waves crash over the rocks, especially in storm season!
- Not pictured but we also rented surf equipment from at Cox Bay and had so much fun catching waves right on Cox Beach 🏄♀️
