✨SPRING BLOOMS & BLOSSOMS✨ We made the trip out to Dominion Arboretum to see the Cherry Blossoms and Magnolias in FULL BLOOM 🌳 🌸

There was also a stunning display of Forsythia, Flowering Crabapples, and the Azaleas were really starting to pop!

If you haven’t checked out this stunning park it’s well worth wandering or picnic under the incredible trees🍴 🧺

✨BACKYARD ADVENTURES 🐇✨ Woke up to this little cutie in the yard. This is the first baby bunny I’ve seen this season. It was so sweet and tiny. 💕

It won’t be long until it turns into my nemesis eating all the shrubbery. This year will be the one I finally protect them before it’s too late 😂

Canadian Tulip Festival 🌷 Officially opens May 8-18th, 2026 for its 74th year with stunning displays across Ottawa, Ontario!

We popped in for a visit along the Queen Elizabeth Driveway where tons of unique blooms filled the garden beds with colour. There were so many unique varieties to enjoy!! 💐

We had such an incredible time exploring the shop, grabbing some refreshments, and listening to awesome local live music.

✨BACKYARD ADVENTURES✨Did you know you can eat hostas? The tender new shoots can be fried up to add a unique delicacy to your meal! 🧑‍🍳 🌱

We spent the afternoon collecting, and fried up some mixed vegetables and hostas to go along with our chicken breast!

As per my sisters suggestion we added garlic, salt, rosemary, and thyme. I would highly recommend using fresh herbs but dried was all we had available this time of year!

The verdict is Keaton ate them all and said they were pretty good even though I burnt them a bit. 🤷‍♀️

Hostas are said to have a taste similar to a mix of asparagus and lettuce with the nutty like notes, slightly bitter, and imo a little grassy. If I try it again maybe some soya sauce would complement it!

I personally am still on the fence about this dish!

✨ART SHOW EXPERIENCE 🎨 ✨We got fancy for the evening to check out our friend Sydni Strutters displaying at the 4th Annual Juried Fine Art Show and Exhibition Fundraiser at Fulford Place!

Sydni Struthers is a self-taught artist from Cornwall, now creating out of Brockville. Her work spans bold acrylics and oils, finely detailed realism, and vibrant digital pieces, all distinguished by dynamic colour, confident energy, and a style that is unmistakably her own.

We got to see some incredible artwork from regional artists like Colleen O’Connell, Margaret Lyndsay Holton, Eda Brown, Monique van Someren, Sheila Ballantyne, and many more, with so many different styles and mediums from pastel to acrylic, modern to landscape!
