Beautiful and Scaryβ¦β€οΈπ₯πββοΈ
The first and only day I had my trip to the Twin Lakes of Manenguba was a surreal blend of fear and awe. As I climbed higher, the landscape unfolded into a breathtaking view, yet it carried an eerie silence. When I first laid eyes on the green Male Lake, it felt like it was staring back at me, almost ready to swallow me whole. Its stillness was haunting, the air so quiet I felt like I could hear my own soul. Standing between the two lakes, I suddenly felt light headed as if I were floating, or about to fall in.
The stories Iβd heard before came rushing back: how no one dares to throw anything in the Male Lake, or even step in. That green tint didnβt make it easier it looked alive, mysterious, sacred. And yet, with all the fear came beauty. Looks smaller in pictures but so huge physically
The kind that makes you proud of your roots. That moment, with all its emotion fear, wonder, peace, and pride reminded me why I tell stories. It was one of my documentary film trips, but it gave me a personal memory Iβll treasure forever. Iβll return if I ever get the chance. Over and over again.
