Come behind the lens with me for a sec…

I spotted this perfect landscape and knew I had to step back to widen the frame. I switched to 14 mm, placed Mount Rundle right in the centre, and let the scene breathe.

Slid on a neutral-density filter, dropped the shutter for a long exposure, and let the clouds streak across the sky, adding motion to the calm.

Took five photos at different exposures. Blended them into an HDR image to bring back the colours that the snow washed out.

There’s so much more thought that goes into crafting an image like this, rather than pointing and shooting. Composition is intentional and takes time.
