Been a little quiet on here lately, but I just have to brag on our farm kids for a minute.

Man, are we lucky.

These two are the heart of this place. They put up with the long days, the late nights, the early mornings, and all the things that come with farm life. They don't complain, they just jump in.

What almost 3 and almost 5 year old wake up asking to do chores? Ours do. No word of a lie. Ava gets real pi**ed if we aren't out that door at a certain time πŸ˜‚

Ava and Luca collect over 150 eggs every single day without a second thought. They fill a whole crate by themselves, and the next morning they're ready to do it all over again.

Luca watches for me on the tractor or skid steer and is already running to open gates before I even get there. I don't have to ask. He just knows.

People always say they're "just kids," but these kids know what responsibility is. They know animals still need to be fed when it's cold, when it's hot, when you're tired, and when you'd rather be doing something else. They know that farm life doesn't stop because you're having an off day.

We don't sugarcoat much around here. They see the good, the hard, the exciting, and the heartbreaking. They know that sometimes things don't go the way you hoped, and that's just part of raising livestock. It's all part of the life we've chosen.

They've got more grit and work ethic than a lot of grown adults, and I couldn't be prouder. So when they ask for something, they usually get it. They earn every bit of it.

Watching them grow up with dirt on their boots, egg baskets in their hands, and a love for this life fills my heart in ways I can't even explain.

These kids are why we keep going on the hard days. We're raising more than livestock, we're raising good humans.

And I think we're doing alright. ❀️

has watched these two grow up. From a few weeks old to little humans they sre today. And she ways captures the best photos, no matter what mood they are in πŸ˜‚

Meet the newest worker on the farm-R***r!
Little R***r Bo**er is a 10 week old Boarder collie x Heeler. He is going to be trained to help me move the cows. This dog is already so smart it's unbelievable.
Any suggestions where he can go for cattle training? I feel like I'm going to have to drop him off in Alberta but if someone know anywhere else let me know!

M7-Juice, wanted to come home I guess πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ the rest of the herd on the hill are still there and have not escaped. Have no idea where he got out checked the fences and the gates, nothing. But we had a lovely stroll with neighbor Brad, we like to call eachother and let one another know that one of our cows has gotten out. One way to know your neighbors πŸ˜‚

Hey guys, I've been a little quiet on here lately! Well, for one, I ran over my phone with the disks and that put a damper on things till my new one showed up- you can't buy anything in store anymore!
And two. I've been flat out. Between hay season, business stuff, momming, wife-ing, and struggling. The struggling part is that the doctors have decided to switch to a different medication and it is not going well..buuutttt with these thing it takes "time" well I'm the type of person where I want results yesterday but unfortunately you can't do that with the chemicals in your brain.

And 3, getting up and going with our new adventure had definitely taken up any "free" time i had (sleep πŸ˜‚)

I'm super happy to said Tyler and I have successfully pulled off what seemed to be almost impossible. With enough perseverance and cash πŸ˜‚ we did it. And we couldn't have done with will all of the help we've had along the way. So thankful for everyone help, I think you guys think we are crazy and when are we going to stop with these crazy adventures..probably not anytime soon haha.

We are now supplying the community with our beautiful eggs at Wlokas fruit stand and Kootenay Co-op in Nelson. We are CFIA approved and everything! We are taking public orders, and now have Medium, Large and XLarge eggs to choose from!

I have to thank Keiran and Jenna for the endless phone calls and messages as we transitioned. It was a lot to say the least. I couldn't have asked for better people to deal with. And I have so much appreciation for those two in trusting us with a business started from scratch. And for us to carry it on. It's an honor, it really is. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity.

So what did we do? We have taken over their egg business. From Old Iron Ranch to Mountain View Farm. We raise the hens, collect the eggs and take them to our sorting facility at the Kootenay Food Hub. Where the washer, candler and grader is! This is so surreal and never thought we'd be on this scale!

This is a pinch me moment, these are our new labels and I just can't believe it. The newest chapter. It just keeps getting better and better.

How I exactly felt tonight 🫠

07/05/2026

It was a great day, got a bunch of chores done. Got some photo's done. I even had time to disk the arena to bring it back to life. It only required one sacrifice....My phone... she's berried somewhere in there. We have the general area with the truck and bluetooth connection... Anyone have a metal detector kicking around?

Last minute scramble means, late nights. Got the poly up and now the sheeting, for the walls atleast. I don't know if I want to try the ceiling, being vertically challenged and all πŸ˜… think that might be a Tyler job haha

Got the kiddos back yesterday from their Nana and Papa from Kimberley yesterday. They went on a camping trip and just loved it. So glad they were able to get away and have some fun. Now back to chores and the scramble before Tuesday. To say I'm a little behind before the take over is a understatement πŸ˜… going to rally and get as much as I can!
