Week 1: What Is True Wealth?

Key Scripture

"Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold."
— Proverbs 3:13–14 (NIV)
Introduction
When people hear the word wealth, they often think of money, expensive homes, luxury cars, successful businesses, or large investment accounts. Society measures success by what a person owns. Yet throughout history, many wealthy people have admitted that money alone could not give them peace, purpose, or lasting joy.

The Bible presents a very different definition of wealth.

According to God's Word, true wealth begins with a relationship with God. It is built on wisdom, faith, love, integrity, peace, gratitude, and a life lived according to God's purpose. Material possessions are blessings from God, but they are not the foundation of a truly rich life. Wealth without wisdom can disappear overnight. Wealth without character can destroy a person. Wealth without God can leave the heart empty.

King Solomon, one of the wealthiest men who ever lived, discovered this truth. Despite his riches, power, and achievements, he recognized that wisdom from God was more valuable than silver or gold. He learned that lasting fulfillment is found not in possessions but in knowing and following the Lord.
True wealth is measured by:
Your relationship with God.
The character you develop.
The people you love.
The lives you impact.
The wisdom you apply.
The eternal treasures you store in heaven.
Money can buy a house, but not a loving home.
Money can buy medicine, but not perfect health.
Money can buy entertainment, but not lasting joy.
Money can buy comfort, but not peace with God.
That is why this journey begins by asking one important question:
What does God consider true wealth?
As we study together throughout this quarter, you will discover that God desires to bless His children—not only materially when appropriate, but spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and eternally. His greatest gifts cannot be measured by a bank account.
Reflection Questions
When you hear the word wealth, what comes to your mind first?
Have you ever achieved something you thought would make you happy but still felt empty?
Which area of your life do you believe is your greatest treasure today?
How does God's definition of wealth differ from the world's definition?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that true wealth is found in You. Help me to seek wisdom above riches, character above comfort, and Your Kingdom above worldly success. Teach me to value what lasts forever and to become rich in faith, love, and generosity. May my life reflect the treasure that only You can give. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Weekly Challenge
Every day this week, write down three blessings that money cannot buy. Thank God for each one, and ask Him to help you treasure His gifts above material possessions.

✨ **Today's Declaration of Faith** ✨

Today, I choose faith over fear.

I declare that I will not be ashamed to live out my faith in Jesus Christ. May my trust in God become a source of hope for those who are searching, strength for those who are struggling, and encouragement for those who feel alone.

No matter what challenges come my way, I will stand firm, knowing that God is faithful. I will let my life reflect His love, grace, and truth.

**"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes." — Romans 1:16**

🙏 If this is your prayer today, comment **"Amen"** and share this with someone who needs encouragement.
