Spring in Canada means one very special thingโฆ gosling season. ๐ชฟ๐ฟ
Across parks, rivers, and neighborhoods, Mama and Papa geese become busy protecting their growing families.
Every year, Canadian geese begin nesting during early spring when the weather slowly starts warming up after winter. The mother goose carefully builds a nest using grass, leaves, and soft feathers, usually near water where the babies can stay safe.
She lays several eggs and keeps them warm for about a month while the father goose stays nearby like a bodyguard, always watching for danger. During this time, both parents become extremely protective of their future babies.
Once the eggs hatch, tiny fluffy goslings finally enter the world. Unlike many birds, goslings can walk, swim, and follow their parents almost immediately after hatching.
Youโll often see the whole goose family crossing roads, eating fresh spring grass, or peacefully swimming together in ponds across Canada.
The babies learn everything from their parents โ where to find food, how to stay safe, and how to survive in nature. Mama goose guides them closely while Papa goose protects the family from behind.
For many Canadians, seeing these tiny yellow goslings is one of the most wholesome signs that winter is finally over and spring has truly arrived. ๐ธ๐จ๐ฆ
