Rest by the lake:
👉 Elk Island National Park
(about 35 km east of Edmonton) Astotin Lake is the largest and most popular. Listeners share that this lake has a lot of leeches (we call them bloodsuckers here) and organisms that cause itching. Not a great place to swim! However, it is a popular place for camping and outdoor recreation. There are many lakes, hiking trails and the opportunity to see bison and other wildlife. There is an entrance fee. 👉 Hubbles Lake - Allan Beach Resort

👉 Wizard Lake
(about 65km from Edmonton). Deep water, sandy beach. Reportedly cold water for swimming. More suitable for boating, skiing, fishing, etc. Small children's area. Good place for camping, cabins available for rent.
👉 Wabamun Lake Provincial Park
(approximately 70km west of Edmonton) There are camping sites, beaches and water sports such as kayaking and windsurfing. Wabamun Lake – Seba Beach. Listeners shared that the water was not very clean and there was algae.
👉 Alberta Beach
(approximately 70 km from Edmonton) this beach is located on Lake Lac Ste. Anne. Shallow water, suitable for children, the lake warms up well. 500-700 meters from the shore the water is still waist-deep, sandy shore.
👉 Pigeon Lake Provincial Park
(approximately 100 km southwest of Edmonton). There are several campgrounds, beaches, and opportunities for fishing and swimming.

👉 Twin Lake
(approximately 115 km from Edmonton) there is a campsite (Twin Lake Campground)
– Cross Lake Provincial Park (approximately 140 km) – there is a campsite and you can come for a day's rest. There is a beach, water and tables for cleaning fish. 👉 Long Lake Provincial Park
(approximately 150km from Edmonton) - Clean water, there is a playground for children.
👉 Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park
(approximately 180 km northwest of Edmonton). It offers scenic camping sites near McLeod Lake and opportunities for fishing, boating and hiking.
👉 Sylvan Lake
(approximately 180 km from Edmonton) – a large lake, there is a playground for children, a beach. There are great floating entertainment on the water. But you need to come in the morning, on weekends there are a lot of people.
👉 Calling Lake

👉 Bonnyville- Moose Lake Provincial Park
(about 230km from Edmonton) Bonnyville has lakes in almost every direction, but Vezo Beach on Moose Lake is one of the most accessible. It’s quiet and spacious, so there’s plenty of room to kayak or, if you’re feeling adventurous, rent a jet ski or boat to take you around the lake. You can either have a day trip or stay overnight.
👉 Cold Lake - Kinosoo Beach
(approx. 250km) Here you will find Splash Park, beach volleyball and basketball courts, a children's zipline, Wicked Watersport rentals right on the beach. There are also many accommodation options here, from camping to glamping. These resorts and campsites are located within walking distance or a short drive from Kinos beach, local restaurants, shops and a large marina.
Rest by the river:
👉 Pembina River Provincial Park
(Approximately 90 km southwest of Edmonton). This park offers camping on the Pembina River, where you can go rafting, swimming and just enjoy nature. Listeners recommend taking 2 cars and rafting down the river. Leave one in the parking lot at this link ($8), and the other at the Pembina Provincial Park Day Area (free).
