taste & see that the Lord is good.

oh this is my Father’s world,
and after He had made it He said it was good.

His goodness is found in the twists and turns.
even when you’ve left behind all you’ve ever known as good.

every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
so will goodness not follow me into the unknown?

He creates with purpose in mind.
does the Father not love to construct beautiful things?

so what might He do with this new season?

may my posture ever reflect an expectant heart ♥️
knowing He’s promised that:
“surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life”
through winding paths…
down even the roads i’ve never been before.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a real life update… so let me reintroduce myself 🤍🌷🌟

My name is Danielle, and if you’ve been following me for a while, you know my heart has always been to process faith + life through poetry and art.

But let me tell you what I’ve been up to.

The last few years have been filled with so much
breaking and reshaping. Some seasons have been easy to share through the poetry that came out of them, and other seasons have looked like quietly sitting with God, wrestling through different things, and waiting for His restoration.

💐Through it all, He has been such a loving Father, patiently walking with me.

This spring, I finally walked the stage!! 🎓 I graduated with a Bachelor of Theology, with a focus in Pastoral Care and Counselling. Five years of school have officially come to a close, and it feels like such a bittersweet ending to a season that shaped me so deeply.

And now… I’m entering a whole new season.
One that has required a lot of surrender, trust, and stepping out in faith.

After spending two years volunteering in campus ministry, I’m beginning an 8-month internship with the same organization! The goal is to move 4,300 km away from home to serve international students in Eastern Canada.

Right now, I’m in the process of fundraising for this position and learning what it looks like to walk in obedience to the call God has placed on my life.

I want this page to become a home for this journey, while still continuing to share poetry, words, and art along the way.

I’m excited and terrified for this new season… but I’m making space for all the pieces of it.

love letters from God💌

more thoughts:
it’s hard to see it on this side of the sea,
how the waves you’re drowning in could serve a purpose. but that is because from where you’re standing you don’t even know how (or maybe even believe) you’ll make it through the waves.

but hold to this: where He calls He will lead. He does not lead us to the wildness to die.

as the Israelites remarked in the midst of their difficulties…

“didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? we said, ‘leave us alone! let us be slaves to the Egyptians. it’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a co**se in the wilderness!’”

even the Israelites, despite seeing sign after sign of God’s provision, had deep doubts that He would get them to the other side of the sea.

but this was Moses’ response…

“but Moses told the people, “don’t be afraid. just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. the Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. the Lord himself will fight for you. just stay calm.”

God did not abandon His children then, and He isn’t about to start to with you.

while the waves may be bigger than your faith at this moment, know God is still greater than it all.

He will rescue you…just be still.

words for spiritual warfare + tribulation🖤
The darkness will not consume you,
but it might try to cover your face.
It will feel like it’s trying to swallow you,
but it won’t be strong enough to take you away.
The light here may feel bleak,
only enough to expose your weary eyes,
under the heavy sky.

This darkness will try to convince you to turn back,
or it will try to lure you into the deep.
It will do everything it can to distract you,
for it knows that its time is short,
and that soon you will reach the light.

So you will keep walking on,
clinging to this tiny glimpse of light,
even though it feels insignificant.
The dark knows it’s running on borrowed time…
so it will try to tell you that it’s safer
than the pocket of light you hold to.

For daytime is drawing near.
An eternal sunrise breaking through.
An all-encompassing light,
yes that little glimmer you’ve held on to,
now swallowing whole what was once a
never ending night.
So do not give up, do not give in,
the darkness around you may feel powerful,
but to Him even here is bright,
and very soon you will dance in His never ending light.

✨An invitation to peace:

Sometimes you have to let God shatter your perspective of things to find the truth.
Sometimes you must let go of what you think you know or understand,
To make room for what His voice is telling you.

Maybe here everything is unknown,
For you’re treading a new road,
Letting go of your personal perception,
Abandoning the fear that has gripped you before.

Laying down your false sense of security and control,
Lies melting to the floor,
Schemes of the enemy loosing their power,
You’re left to navigate this uncertain road…

Your eyes have been set on the cloud of fear,
Dwelling in its’ dark atmosphere…
Leaning on your own understanding,
Captivated by the what if’s that rule your heart…

But maybe He is inviting you into a posture of peace and love…
To unwind your mind from all its’ overthinking.
Who’s to say He will not provide for all your needs,
For He is the God of peace, stilling every anxiety.
He is sovereign over everything.
So turn your eyes towards Him,
Even here He is enough, greater than any of your understanding.

what are you truly thirsty for?
and is it that in which you seek?

what have you began to call sufficient?

what have you settled for?

could God maybe have something more?

maybe you need to spend some time going hungry, in order to see what you’re truly starving for…
