Some memories don’t need a spotlight.
Just a quiet glow, cold air, and a reason to stay outside a little longer.

nights hit different.

Light enough to stay.
Bright enough to remember.

Cold hands.
Red glow.
Snowballs and laughter in the dark.

No plans.
No rush.
Just a winter night spent exactly where we should be.

These are the moments that don’t need fixing,
only remembering.

Night trails, quiet camps, and a fire to end the day.
Overlanding isn’t about rushing — it’s about building a setup that lets you go farther, stay longer, and camp comfortably off-grid.

From proper lighting for night driving to choosing the right campsite, this is what vehicle-based adventure looks like in Western Canada.

If you’ve been curious about overlanding or car camping, this is your sign to start exploring.

When the wife insists I take part in Elfie… the Grinch comes out to play 😏🎄”

From the GRINCH

I’ve taken your Elf, yes Elfie by name,
Locked him up tight - it’s part of my game.
Until December Fifteen he’ll stay locked tight, Unless you can solve what I give you each night.
Answer my riddle, be clever, be quick,
Outsmart the Grinch - ha! now that’s the trick!
But fail to succeed, don’t figure it out...
And Elfie stays trapped - no sneaking about!

-28°C. 10:00pm. Wind biting. Snow piled high.
Finished plowing, shut the ATV off, looked up.

This is what the northern lights look like on a Canadian winter night.
No tripod setup. No chasing forecasts. Just being outside long enough for the sky to reward you.

Aurora borealis happens when charged solar particles collide with earth’s atmosphere — but you don’t feel the science when your eyelashes are freezing. You just feel lucky you didn’t go inside yet.

Sometimes the best views come after the work is done.
