The first image, known as Earthrise, was captured on December 24, 1968, by astronaut Bill Anders during the historic Apollo 8 mission. It became one of the most iconic photographs ever taken, showing our planet rising above the Moon’s horizon.
More than 50 years later, a new high-resolution image of Earth was captured from deep space by Reid Wiseman, commander of the Artemis II mission, on April 2, 2026.
From past to present, these images remind us how small, beautiful, and connected our world truly is.

Jim Carrey has always embraced his Canadian roots, crediting his upbringing for shaping his character, humor, and worldview. Proof that no matter how far life takes us, our origins stay close to our hearts. 🇨🇦

--The biggest lie we tell ourselves? That we are separate--
After spending 178 days aboard the International Space Station (ISS), NASA astronaut Ron Garan returned to Earth with a perspective that challenges how we see our planet and ourselves.
From space, Earth appears as one radiant blue sphere—without borders, without divisions. The lines that separate nations on maps simply do not exist when viewed from orbit. There is only one shared home, floating silently in the vastness of space.
During his mission, Garan witnessed the planet’s extraordinary beauty and fragility. He saw the Earth’s thin blue atmosphere—the delicate layer that sustains all life—along with massive lightning storms sweeping across continents and glowing auroras dancing near the poles.
Scientists refer to this profound shift in awareness as the “Overview Effect.” For Garan, it fundamentally changed his understanding of humanity’s place in the universe. From that vantage point, he realized how misaligned our priorities have become.
He argues that humanity has organized the world in the wrong order. Instead of placing the economy above all else, our true hierarchy should be:
Planet first, Society second, and Economy last.
