The Broken Shoe
David grew up in a very poor village.
Every morning, he walked five miles to school wearing the same old shoes. One day, the sole of one shoe completely tore apart.
His classmates laughed.
“Why do you even come to school?” one boy mocked.
“You’ll never become anything.”
David felt embarrassed, but he didn’t quit.
Instead of skipping school, he wrapped the shoe with tape and kept walking every day.
Years passed.
David studied harder than anyone else. Many nights he read books under a small candle because there was no electricity in his house.
One day, his teacher told him something he would never forget:
“Your situation is not your future.”
Those words stayed in his heart.
Years later, David graduated from university and became a successful engineer.
One afternoon, he returned to his old village.
But this time, he wasn’t wearing broken shoes.
He was opening a new school for children who couldn’t afford education.
Standing there, he smiled and said:
“Never let people laugh at your beginning…
because they might one day applaud your success.”
Lesson:
Your struggles today do not define your future. With determination and hard work, you can rise above any obstacle. 💪
