Along with the rest of the racing community are deeply saddened with the the news of the passing of Kyle Busch.

Regardless of your feelings of him as a driver, I am heart broken for his family, friends and racing family.

Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone on this very difficult day.

The team rolled into Peterborough Speedway with new cars, returning faces, and hopes for a strong start to the season. By the end of the night, there were smiles, memories, and one very wounded race car heading home.

This little boy wanted Hailey McNicol Racing autograph- then asked if he could see inside the car. I opened the door and he climbed in like he’d done it 100 times.

He grabbed the wheel and placed it on and said look I’m a race car driver.

He told me he was 6 and all he wanted to do was be a race car driver.

It’s the moments like these that make the fan appreciation nights so important.

That little boy will remember that time he got in that race car for a very long time and I’m so proud that Hails will be part of his memory!

The wait is over — the Ontario season opener for the@Ontario Legend Car Series goes green THIS SATURDAY at Peterborough Speedway and the McNicol Motorsports team is more than ready to hit the track. 🔥

Both Hailey McNicol Racing and Matt Thompson will be rolling into opening night in brand new rides for the 2026 season — and let’s just say… the expectations are high. 👀

The goal?
Top 10, Top 5, the Podium- any of these would make them very happy!
